Helix Power produces kinetic batteries for zero-emission port operations through the elimination of diesel-powered cranes, generators, and other greenhouse gas-emitting equipment from seaport operations. These kinetic batteries are designed to moderate short-cycle peaks in energy demand inherent to port operations. The solution addresses surges by recycling the recovered energy. Prize money: $100,000 USD.
