Phoenix Waste Solutions, represented by Yuen-Li Chan, COO and Co-Founder, from the United States, Louisiana, has developed a new technology for clean micro waste-to-energy. The Phoenix is a mobile waste-to-energy furnace that thermally reduces solid waste and biosolids from wastewater at 2000F without any auxiliary fuel, at less than half the cost of landfill while reducing toxic emissions. Prize money: $100,000 USD.
2024 Wallenius Wilhelmsen Orcelle® Award
CarbonBridge represented by Manu Pillai, Co-Founder and CEO, from the United States, New Jersey, makes economical, green methanol. CarbonBridge ultra low carbon methanol allows for highly economical compliance through blending. This enables a constant decrease in carbon footprint, down to net-zero. Prize Money: $100,00 USD

Ceretune LLC, represented by Reid Barnett, Founder and CEO, from Wilson College in NC, United States. Ceretune addresses ocean phosphorus and nitrogen by way of a biodegradable, self-buoyant, non-woven fabric that allows plants to grow from seed on the water, converting the nutrients to biomass. Prize money: $10,000 USD.
2024 Ocean Exchange Collegiate Award
PhyCo Technologies, represented by Ranah Chavoshi, Co-Founder and CEO, a student at Simon Fraser University in BC, Canada. Phyco™ is a marine biotechnology company focused on seaweed aquaculture and manufacturing compostable plastics in partnership with Indigenous Nations. Prize money: $10,000 USD.
