In 2023, Ocean Exchange presents an awards program that includes the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Orcelle® Award, the Neptune Award, and the second year of the Transportation Hub Award (aka the Port Award). The prize money for each award is $100,000 USD. In addition, Ocean Exchange will also present the Ocean Exchange Collegiate Award, with prize money of $10,000 USD. In all, the prize money to be awarded at the 2023 Ocean Exchange event will total $310,000 USD.
The Neptune Award 2023 is given to the solution that advances our understanding of the ocean and helps minimize our impact on these resources, even while using them for human benefit, resulting in more resilient bodies of water including healthy marine life and coastlines.
The WW Orcelle® Award 2023 is sponsored by Wallenius Willhelmsen. This award reflects the company’s statement of purpose, “sustainable logistics for a world in motion.” The Award will be presented to the innovation that holds the greatest potential to close the gap to zero emissions ambition for either their land or ocean operations.
The Transportation Hub Award 2023 (aka the Port Award) is given to the solution that advances ocean-, inland-, and air- ports and other logistics hubs, seeking innovations that make ports/hubs more sustainable with technologies that support clean water and air, conservation of precious natural resources near ports/hubs, efficient road/rail/warehousing supporting the ports, and state-of-the-art sustainable port-hub land management.
Like the Neptune Award, the Collegiate Award is given to the solution that advances our understanding of the ocean and helps minimize our impact on these resources. While the criteria are the same, the Collegiate Award is presented to a company in its earlier stages than one applying for the major awards.
